The primary responsibility of a Service Technician is to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair compact and heavy equipment — both in‑shop and in the field — with the highest regard for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
YOUR PRIMARY JOB DUTIES- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Bobcat, Develon, Manitou, Gravely, and related compact/heavy equipment (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, diesel systems) in shop or field environments, ensuring top‑notch efficiency and quality workmanship.
- Coordinate with Parts to request and stage all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs, minimizing downtime.
- Partner with Warranty Administration to verify coverage and complete repair documentation per OEM/vendor requirements.
- Complete detailed write‑ups for all work orders, including diagnostics performed, corrective actions, parts used, and labor times.
- Perform repairs safely and efficiently
, following shop procedures and manufacturer service information. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
, including tools, service trucks, and shared spaces. - Support rentals, pre‑delivery inspections, and customer demos as needed to keep customers and fleets working.
- Other duties as assigned to support our customers and team.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school or 3+ years of equivalent experience preferred.
- Proven problem‑solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use OEM service information, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins.
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written) and computer literacy for service software and digital work orders.
- Ability to read and interpret industry terminology and OEM documentation; ASE or OEM certifications are a plus.
- Own a basic hand/tool set suitable for equipment service; specialty tools provided by Ironhide Equipment.
- Demonstrated professionalism and respect toward coworkers and customers; acts as an ambassador of the Ironhide brand.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; ability to operate/service trucks and travel locally for field work.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds frequently and maneuver heavy components with proper equipment.
- Operate in a fast‑paced environment with frequent standing, bending, climbing, and use of hand/power tools.
- Work in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wind, dust) during field service calls.
