Position Summary:

The Field Manager leads a crew of frontline electricians—typically 6 to 12 direct reports and leads the day-to-day service relationship with the customer accounts that crew serves. The role is accountable for the people (recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and retaining electricians), the customer (serving as the primary day-to-day point of contact, understanding customer needs, resolving concerns, and driving growth and retention of assigned accounts in coordination with Sales), and the work (coordinating with Operations, Project Management, field leadership, Procurement, Accounting, and company management so services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to customer expectations).

Growing and developing our own electricians is a core expectation of this role. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and customer relationship skills and a working knowledge of electrical services, oilfield operations, and industrial environments.

Essential Functions:

  • Directly supervise and lead a team of frontline electricians and field personnel assigned to the account, typically 6 to 12 direct reports, including crew scheduling, workload, and assignments in partnership with Operations and field leadership.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire electricians and field personnel; make or recommend hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions in coordination with Operations and Human Resources.
  • Onboard new employees and ensure they understand company expectations, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and hands-on coaching; identify skill gaps and coordinate the training, certifications, and advancement opportunities that help electricians progress in their careers, including promotion of high performers into foreman and leadership roles.
  • Conduct periodic and annual performance evaluations, set clear performance and development goals, recognize and reward strong performance, and address performance and conduct concerns promptly, fairly, and consistently.
  • Monitor crew productivity, work quality, and adherence to safety and company policies.
  • Ensure electricians have the tools, resources, direction, and support they need to succeed, and serve as a resource and advocate for assigned employees.
  • Foster a positive, safety-first, and accountable team culture that reflects Expanse Electricals values and its commitment to building a skilled, loyal, long-tenured workforce from within.
  • Remain available and responsive to both employees and customers, including outside standard business hours, to address urgent needs, questions, and concerns.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts and represent Expanse Electrical professionally in all customer interactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customer representatives at the field, operational, and corporate levels.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of each customer’s operations, expectations, processes, site requirements, and contractual requirements (documentation, reporting, invoicing, safety, and quality), and communicate changes internally as they occur.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding service needs, project activity, performance, and upcoming work.
  • Identify and address customer concerns—service, quality, scheduling, billing, or operational—before they affect the relationship; coordinate resolution with the appropriate internal departments, elevate significant concerns to management, and follow up with the customer to confirm resolution.
  • Identify recurring customer concerns and work with the appropriate departments to develop corrective actions.
  • Complete customer service and work-quality surveys and participate in quarterly customer reviews, communicating relevant findings to company…
