Williston Basin School District #7, Williston, North Dakota, is currently accepting applications for the following position:
Job Title: School Social Worker
FLSA: Exempt
Reports to: Chief Academic Officer
Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer and Building Principal. The licensed social worker provides work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performances in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical assistance to staff and students by offering consultation concerning specific requests, explaining laws and regulations. Monitoring student attendance.
- Develops program plans by determining goals and objectives, assessing programs, and making recommendations for policy and procedure changes in conjunction with other staff. Conducts individual counseling sessions to improve student self-esteem, and/or do skill building to improve client's social, emotional, psychological, and/or physical well-being and functioning in the education system. Participates in interdisciplinary team sessions to devise, review, and modify intervention plans for students.
Establishes and maintains contact with students' families to provide information, and/or resources to ensure that intervention plans are followed. Monitors, evaluates, and records student progress according to measurable goals described in intervention plans. When serving students in Special Education, engage in proper due process procedures. - Uphold the ethical standards of the Social Work profession. Conforms to the National Association of Social Work (NASW) Code of Ethics and Standards for School Social Work practice. Maintains accurate case records and documentation within WBSD #7. Works with internal and external individuals, groups, and organizations to develop programs or systems of care that support and enhance the health, social and emotional well-being, and safety of students.
Uses knowledge and understanding of the shared influences of home, school, and community to intervene for student success for such practices as assessment, crisis intervention and response, conflict resolution, individual and group counseling, consultation, program development, dropout prevention, graduation awareness, and coordination of school and community services. Performs other duties as assigned. Participates on the WBSD#7 Crisis Team.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must hold a ND State Social Worker Licence
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work
