Position Summary
The Shop Lube Tech is responsible for performing preventive maintenance services, inspections and small repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This roll supports shop productivity by completing scheduled maintenance tasks, assisting technicians, and maintaining a clean organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacement, fluid checks, lubrication and greasing equipment.
- Conduct basic visual inspection of trucks, trailers and fleet equipment for wear, damage, and safety concerns.
- Check and maintain fluid level including engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, transmission fluid, and DEF.
- Inspect tires, brakes, lights, batteries, belts, hoses, and other basic components.
- Assist technicians with repair and shop tasks as needed.
- Accurately document maintenance completed and report findings to shop manager/fleet manager.
- Support parts handling by returning unused parts and assisting parts specialist with inventory organization.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop work, tool, and service bays.
- Follow all safety policies, regulations, and shop procedures.
- Operate shop equipment safely including lifts, grease systems, and service tools.
- Previous lube tech, maintenance, or mechanical experience.
- Self Driven/Motivated.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform physical labor including bending, climbing, crawling under equipment.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Communication skills.
- Preventive maintenance experience on heavy duty trucks and equipment.
- Familiarity with work orders and maintenance tracking systems.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
- Ability to identify potential maintenance issues before major failures occur.
This position works primarily in a shop environment with exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures. Reports to Shop Supervisor/ Fleet Manager.
