Overland Aviation is hiring a Full‑Time Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to join our team at Williston Basin International Airport XWA. Our GSE Mechanic is responsible for servicing and maintaining the fleet of mobile aircraft refueling trucks, aircraft deicers, tugs, belt loaders, and more aviation experience necessary.

ScheduleThe standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. While this is the normal operating schedule, occasional shift adjustments, after‑hours callouts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and on‑call maintenance responses may be required based on operational needs, weather events, or equipment issues.
Primary Operational ObjectivesTroubleshoot, repair, service and maintain the fleet of ground support equipment (GSE) utilized at Williston Basin International Airport; to include mobile aircraft refueling trucks, aircraft deicers, tugs, belt loaders, ground power units, etc.
Essential Job Functions- Diagnosis and repair varied types and makes of automotive and specialty aviation equipment, including but not limited to aircraft fueling vehicles, aircraft tugs, ground servicing equipment, and deicing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and scheduled inspections on GSE equipment.
- Remove malfunctioning ground support equipment from service until malfunction has been properly diagnosed and repaired.
- Own and demonstrate proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, etc. required for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Respond to after‑hours requests for on‑call GSE maintenance.
- Keep track of parts and create work orders utilizing proprietary software.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures, business practices, company policies, and all other applicable local, city, state, and federal regulations.
- Accurately track and record all inspections utilizing company procedures and documents.
- Perform daily equipment quality assurance and safety checks.
- Effectively communicate the status of equipment with staff.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- At least 3 years’ experience as an automotive, diesel, or GSE mechanic.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
- Participation in pre‑employment and random drug screenings.
- Ability to secure an airport after completing an FBI fingerprint background check and TSA security threat assessment.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Detail‑oriented, ability to read and interpret procedure and technical manuals.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures for long hours.
- Ability to work all shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call.
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 100 pounds and frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and walking.
