NDDOT Equipment Operator II Salary: $4,937 / month
- Qualifies for Regional Pay Differential payment of $800 per month.
Operate heavy equipment to perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including basic snow and ice control/removal, installing, repairing, and maintaining highway signs and guardrails.
Operate power tools and other equipment to perform maintenance duties and keep roadways clear of hazards such as litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
Complete building and ground maintenance duties and general routine maintenance of the roadway and radio system equipment, and perform minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Maintain necessary paperwork, including time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, and other documentation.
Complete construction project duties under close supervision and report activities as required.
Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, coworkers, and others.
May require reporting to work within 30 minutes after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergency events.
Minimum QualificationsValid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by the first day of work.
At least two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one season of winter operations similar to NDDOT.
- Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. Related MOS codes include Truck Driver (88M), Horizontal Construction Engineer (12N), and Pavements & Construction (3E2X1).
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and the required drug test, job function screening, reference check, driver record check and federal clearinghouse query screening.
