Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Back Counter Parts Associate to join our Williston team. This role supports service technicians, field personnel, and customers by accurately identifying, sourcing, receiving, stocking, and distributing heavy equipment and crane parts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and delivers excellent internal and external customer service. This position also performs administrative duties to support daily parts department and branch operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal technicians and external customers.
  • Assist technicians in identifying and locating the correct replacement parts for heavy equipment and cranes.
  • Receive, inspect, verify, and stock incoming parts shipments.
  • Pick, package, and distribute parts for shop work orders and field service requests.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through cycle counts and inventory control procedures.
  • Process parts orders, returns, warranty items, and vendor credits.
  • Research parts availability, pricing, and lead times with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate parts transfers between Crane Works locations when needed.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe parts warehouse and back counter area.
  • Utilize computer systems to enter parts orders, maintain inventory records, and update customer information.
  • Prepare shipping documents and coordinate outbound shipments.
  • Assist with purchase orders, invoices, filing, recordkeeping, and other administrative tasks.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to customer and technician inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Support branch operations with additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Crane Works safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous heavy equipment, crane, construction equipment, truck, agricultural equipment, or industrial parts experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to identify equipment components.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized inventory management systems.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
