Spherion VT is recruiting for a Tax Accountant, who will manage a variety of tax, audit, accounting, and other assignments for our client in Williston, VT. At this level, you should be able to function with minimal supervision, and increased focus is placed on independent problem solving and increasing team profitability through work efficiencies. Experience in some combination of the following areas is necessary:

• Business Taxation (Corporate/Partnership/LLC)
• Complex 1040 and/or 1041 Tax Returns
• Single Audit/Uniform Guidance

Responsibilities:

• Complete tax return preparation, audit-related projects and other special assignments for designated clients as directed with minimal oversight.
• Accept increasing responsibility for engagement phases from initiation through completion.
• Recognize potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions.
• Conduct business research, gather/analyze data, interpret/report results and provide recommendations.
• Strengthen and maintain client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness.

Qualifications:

• Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity.
• Perform work accurately and in a time-efficient manner with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.

Working hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Current CPA license or CPA candidate a plus.
