What You'll DoReporting directly to the CFO, you'll serve as the operational leader of accounting. You'll own the day-to-day accounting function, strengthen financial processes, and ensure accurate, timely reporting across multiple entities.
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting- Lead the monthly close process from start to finish
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and manage intercompany accounting
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- Support internal controls and accounting best practices
- Maintain project job costing and financial tracking
- Apply percentage-of-completion accounting
- Partner with project managers and operations leaders to ensure accurate project financials
- Oversee customer billing and collections
- Review vendor invoices and subcontractor payments
- Manage vendor records, credit card reconciliations, expense reporting, and annual 1099
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage daily cash activity and intercompany transfers
- Help develop scalable accounting processes as the organization grows
- Partner with the CFO on process improvements and financial initiatives
- Collaborate with external partners on tax and compliance matters
- Contribute to ERP optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership of their work.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with in construction, electrical contracting, renewable energy, or other project-based industries
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting
- Experience working in multi-entity organizations
- Experience with Net Suite or a comparable ERP system
- CPA or CPA-track is welcomed but not required
- You'll be especially successful if you're someone who:
