The Stern Center for Language and Learning is an education-focused nonprofit dedicated to expanding the power of learning. We are currently hiring a Special Educator to provide 1:1, intervention-based instruction in-person in Williston, Vermont. This role focuses on individualized intervention and requires strong collaboration and communication skills.
Experience with Orton‑Gillingham, or similar qualifications, is preferred. The position is full‑time, in‑person, located in Chittenden County, VT. The hiring range is $54,000 – $57,000 annually.

Job DescriptionThe Stern Center for Language and Learning is a 40-year-old education-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the power of learning. Founded in 1983, we align our practices with research in neuroscience and offer specialized learning evaluations, social learning support, speech therapy, customized instruction services, and programs for educators and schools. We have a team of about 80 full‑time and part‑time professionals motivated to make a positive difference for students, families, teachers, schools, education leaders, and communities.
Job Requirements- Candidates must hold a valid Vermont Special Educator license and have experience delivering targeted instruction in reading, writing, and/or math using a multisensory approach. Ideal candidates will have a BA/BS in education, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Special Education, enthusiasm for one‑to‑one instruction, and knowledge of assessment and interpretation.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
