Non-Intensive Educator (Gen Ed) Needed

Williston Central School
Williston Central School (WCS) is seeking an energetic and caring individual to join our 5th/6th grade general education teams in the role of a 1.0 FTE Non-Intensive Para educator starting FY27. We are looking for a skilled professional to act as a vital link across three grade-level teams, providing support to both students and faculty to facilitate a successful educational experience.
This position is essential to our mission of fostering student growth, independence, and a collaborative school community. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced teaming environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Taking a proactive approach to supporting 5th/6th grade teams by anticipating and meeting needs in advance of directions.
- Establishing positive relationships and working with individual students to problem-solve situations throughout their day.
- Providing strong organizational support, including managing instructional resources, making copies, and ordering student supplies.
- Organizing field trips and special events, and assisting with general team communication with families.
- Taking a leadership role in supervising students during lunch, recess, bus arrival/departure, and off-campus trips.
- Utilizing consistent, positive behavior management strategies across a variety of school settings.
- Participating in team meetings and working closely with teachers while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- A deep commitment to being a positive, helpful contributor to the school community.
- The ability to take the lead, work independently, and remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Professionalism in Google platforms (Gmail, Drive, Docs, etc.).
- Superior attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- The physical capacity to meet the requirements of the position, which may include lifting.
