Slopeside Syrup is seeking to add a detail-oriented and friendly syrup handler and packaging machine operator to our small team in Williston, VT.
About SlopesideSlopeside Syrup was founded in 2010 on the slopes of Cochran Ski Area to produce exceptional pure Vermont maple syrup. After several years of growth, the company was split into farming and packaging businesses with the bottling and packaging moving to Williston.
What it is like to work at SlopesideWe are a small team of under ten mixed between part and full time spread between packaging and manufacturing and our sister company UnTapped. Our team is fun and relaxed but focused on getting work done well and efficiently. We enjoy getting outside and exercising year round.
What a day will look likeWith a small team, days can be quite varied. From syrup purchasing trips and receiving to bottling or packaging and shipping syrup. This position will also entail ensuring the organization and cleanliness of the bottling space.
The main focus of this position will be creating batches of syrup and packaging the syrup in various containers in a way that meets food safety requirements and internal standards. This also requires good record keeping skills.
Primary Responsibilities- Receive syrup, other ingredients and packaging
- Mixing barrels of syrup and other ingredients together to form batches ready for bottling/packaging
- Operating equipment to bottle/package syrup
- Preparing packaged syrup for shipping
- Maintain packaging and warehouse space in an organized and clean manner
- Maintain food safety records
Clean production equipment and barrels - Communicate with other team members in regards to production schedule and needs
Full time, 40 hours per week. $24-26/hour starting. Health insurance available.
