Long-Term Substitute School Nurse Needed

Allen Brook School

Allen Brook School (ABS) is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute School Nurse (7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week). This position is anticipated to start on November 18, 2026, and run through February 5, 2027, following the school calendar.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide student health care services, including assessment, first aid, health screening, medication administration, and care for students with special needs.
• Assist in communicable disease control and conduct immunization assessments.
• Compile statistical information, maintain health and medication records/logs, and complete accident reporting and required state reports.
• Serve as an active member of student support teams and update student health emergency information.
• Provide interpretation of health information to staff and parents, communicate school health policies, and share pertinent health resource information to promote a healthy school environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Current, valid RN license in Vermont or an active RN license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• CPR certification.
• Preferred background in school health, public health, or pediatric nursing.
• Proficiency in technology, with comfort utilizing Google Workspace tools for document creation, file management, communication, and collaboration.
