Critical Care Veterinarian

Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists is looking to add a Veterinary Criticalist who brings sharp clinical thinking, fresh ideas, and the kind of presence that makes a team better. You'll join a fast-paced hospital that values adaptability, continuous improvement, and doctor development, with access to the latest technology, state-of-the-art training facilities, and a positive, collaborative team culture.

As Vermont's only specialty and 24/7 emergency animal hospital, BEVS is where the region's most complex cases end up. Here's what that means for you:

What Sets BEVS Apart

  • Advanced on-site equipment and imaging — MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and radioiodine (I-131) therapy — ensuring complex cases are diagnosed and treated within BEVS by leveraging the collaboration between our emergency and specialty teams.
  • A referral destination not just for Vermont, but for the wider region.
  • A true multidisciplinary specialty bench — internal medicine, surgery, emergency & critical care, neurology, dentistry, and ophthalmology — meaning real case collaboration, not siloed departments.
  • Roots in the Vermont veterinary community since 1999, grown by local veterinarians who saw a need and built something lasting.
  • Medical leadership focused on doctor development, mentorship, and hospital culture — not just clinical throughput.
