Requirements

As the Assistant Center Store Manager (Overnight), you will oversee the look, feel, organization and staffing needs of the department. During the evening hours, in this role keeping in close communication with the Center Store Manager. Stockers are given clear direction so that the shelves are fully stocked, front & faced, and have appropriate signage. The Manager demonstrates stocking skills in their own role as Stocker.

Staff are supervised so that their arrivals and departures are monitored and kept according to schedule, appropriate breaks are taken, and any staff issues are addressed, using the Team Lead’s input when necessary and always letting the Center Store Manager know of any issues or events. The Evening Grocery Manager is also responsible for the training new stockers, delegating tasks performed by stockers on a daily basis and ensuring proper and efficient closing of the department.

Assistant

Center Store Manager (Overnight)

Oversees all department staff and functions:

  • Ensures all staff are being productive and working safe
  • Ensures department procedures and protocol are followed
  • Ensures staff are providing superior customer service
  • Trains new stockers per the training guidelines established by/with the Grocery Manager
  • Delegates daily stocking tasks to Grocery Stockers
  • Cleaning Tasks
  • Fronting/Facing of sections, as needed
  • Maintenance of back stock
  • Acts as point of contact for the department
  • Troubleshoots staff call-outs; notifies and contacts Manager and obtains direction as necessary
  • Handles staff issues by speaking privately with the individual and follows-up with the Grocery Manager and/or HR Properly
  • Communicates information from daytime staff (Manager/Buyers/Merchandiser) to evening staff, as needed
  • Communicate information regarding evening activities to Manager/Buyer, as needed
  • Sends an evening overview email to the Grocery Manager
  • Always acts as a positive role model for all staff
Stocker
  • Ensures orders are properly stocked: dairy, frozen, packaged goods, bulk and housewares
  • Ensures all product is neatly and accurately placed on shelves, allowing for proper facings according to shelf tags and signage
  • Continually organizes back stock to ensure all products lacking shelf space availability are organized and maintained
  • Receives small vendor orders as needed; ensures that the product received matches the invoice
  • Product facing; ensures all product is pulled to the front of the shelves and has an organized appearance
  • Product maintenance;
    Ensures all product has proper representation (signage) on the shelf
  • Rotates all stock and pull out-of-date product
  • Returns all damaged product to Receiving for credit
  • Replaces discarded product to its proper home
  • Shelf tag and signage maintenance: ensures that all shelf tags and signage are accurate and communicates needs
  • Knowledgeable and aware of monthly sales as well as changing displays to ensure they are well maintained and stocked
  • Meticulously maintains cleanliness of shelving, coolers and cooler doors, as needed
  • Meticulously maintains cleanliness and organization of back room
  • Maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service and sensitivity to customer’s needs
  • Promptly removes all product from receiving; no product should remain in receiving for longer than 1 day
  • Goes the extra mile for guests and maintains the highest standards of courteous, professional customer service
  • Attends all required meetings, trainings, seminars and workshops
  • Stays passionate, educated and informed regarding new products and industry trends

Pay: Minimum-maximum range of $23.00 - $25.31 per hour. Previous experience will be taken into consideration

Shift: Full-time 40 hours per week, 9pm-5am Monday-Friday

Location: 129 Market St., Williston VT
