Blodgett Supply, one of Hajoca’s trade names, is looking for a Counter Salesperson at their Williston, VT location.
Pay for this position is $21 per hour at this location.
You Will- Confidently assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center.
- Accurately process and fill sales orders generated at the sales counter.
- Attract and retain customers.
- Work with the PCM to establish revenue and margin targets.
- Verify the pick ticket ship date matches the material pickup date, obtain customer signature before releasing material.
- Provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability.
- Keep the counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked, and safely displayed.
- Ensure security and control are upheld at this primary point of customer contact.
- Communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer’s business that might cause a credit risk.
- Process cash sale returns and refund paperwork in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions that could impact customer service levels.
- Assist co‑workers in servicing customers, including answering incoming calls, stocking merchandise in the warehouse, and pulling orders for delivery.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
- 1+ years’ experience in customer service or counter sales; contractor sales preferred.
- Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center.
- Keep an up‑to‑date and comprehensive knowledge of products; be able to suggest associated products for purchase.
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and generous listening skills.
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.
- Ask probing questions to understand customer needs, overcome objections by recommending profitable solutions, and ask for the order.
- Apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
- Learn to operate warehouse material‑handling equipment.
- Learn and demonstrate hand tools.
- Perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Learn and operate the computer‑related systems used to process orders.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
