Position Overview
Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician will support the Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, Vermont.
Compensation & Schedule- Hourly Pay: $39.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: up to $700 for obtaining new ASE Certifications
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter
- Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Schedule: Monday‑Friday, weekends off
- Hours: 2nd shift 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Paid Time Off: Accrues at Day One, 80 hours per year
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k): Start at 30 days
- Maternity Leave: 12 weeks paid (qualifying)
- Veteran Day Off: Additional day for U.S. Military Veterans

- PPE, Uniforms, Boot Allowance: Provided
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes and brake/tire work.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers.
- Complete detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Work unsupervised on most tasks and maintain facility upkeep.
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
- Utilize the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Follow all federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT compliance guidelines.
- Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
- Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
- Provide additional support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support).
- Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
220) and required OEM diagnostic scan tool courses within 365 days.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or Technical Certification;
Post‑Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred. - Basic tools required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience; 2 years with heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
- Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Must pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, and Ryder Background & Motor Vehicle Check (including drug and alcohol verification for prior 3 years).
- Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- All other required certifications as per location standards.
