Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Williston, Vermont. This position offers stable employment, weekly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Compensation & Bonuses
  • Hourly Pay: $35.50 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained (up to $700)
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 in each quarter (4 per year)
  • Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours:

    11:30 am–8:00 pm (mid‑shift)

Requirements
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or certifications (preferred)
  • Basic tool knowledge
  • Demonstrated mechanical repair experience on automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires)
  • Two (2) years of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid commercial driver license (Class

    A) preferred
Additional Qualifications & Screening
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Conduct standard mechanical and electronic diagnostics using onboard computers
  • Identify root causes of failures and perform necessary repairs
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Maintain facility equipment and perform related duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaint nature and assign tasks
  • Utilize shop‑management system and complete electronic documentation
  • Comply with federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines
  • Perform additional support duties as required (e.g., service‑island support)
