Description The Student Support Specialist helps create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all students. This role supports classroom instruction by implementing proactive behavior management strategies, assisting with student educational plans, and supervising students during recess and other activities. The ideal candidate is patient, collaborative, and committed to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED
General knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in teaching.
Knowledge of child development fundamentals and concepts.
Knowledge of problem solving and conflict resolution techniques.
Knowledge of behavioral management strategies, crisis intervention and methods.
Knowledge of district policies, guidelines, rules or philosophy pertaining to discipline and appropriate student behavior and consequences.
