Required Qualifications
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology
  • Experience in Speech Language Pathology; new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages, developing individualized treatment plans and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Essential Work Functions
  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence‑based practices.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home exercises, and safe swallowing practices, offering supportive counseling as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development to remain current with best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Comprehension of written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills.
  • Physical Abilities – remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/Motor Skills – grasp, fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures/equipment.
  • Mental Requirements – cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision as needed, handle irregular schedules, maintain continuous concentration.
  • Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication.
