Job SummaryChild and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) in Willmar MN, part of the DHS Direct Care and Treatment division, offers an opportunity for an ambitious child and adolescent clinical psychologist to help lead a specialty team in behavioral health. The State of Minnesota has broken ground on a $7.5+ million investment in a new 16‑bed psychiatric hospital for ages 6‑18 with serious behavioral and emotional conditions.
The new facility will provide exceptional care and treatment in a state‑of‑the‑art environment.
As a child and adolescent clinical psychologist, you will be deeply involved in the care and treatment of patients and help set the direction and priorities for treatment within a program model you advance. You will work with a dedicated team of hospitalists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and rehabilitation therapists, all committed to evidence‑based, integrated, child‑centered treatment.
Psychological services include comprehensive assessment; evidence‑based individual, group, and family treatment; interdisciplinary team collaboration; patient treatment conference leadership; consultation in positive behavioral supports; and risk assessment and management of suicidality and violence.
This role integrates clinical information from direct observations, treatment, testing, evaluation, team and collateral reports, and medical records. Be part of a team that continually strives for excellence in mental health care.
The vacancy is posted at the Psychologist 3 and Behavioral Medicine Practitioner levels; the level will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications.
Qualifications Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria.
Psychologist 3
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in clinical psychology - Licensed or license‑eligible Psychologists by the Minnesota Board of Psychology (LP)*
- Completion of an APA‑approved internship focusing on children and adolescents
Note:
Licensed‑eligible Psychologist can be hired provisionally as a Psychologist 3.
Behavioral Medicine Practitioner (BMP)
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in Clinical Psychology - Licensed Psychologists by the Minnesota Board of Psychology (LP)*
- One year post‑license experience
- Completion of an APA‑approved internship focusing on children and adolescents
Preferred Qualifications
- Post‑doctoral training in treatment of children and adolescents
- Training and experience in positive behavioral techniques
- Prior internship or work experience in inpatient psychiatric settings
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary treatment model
- Training and experience incorporating family work in treatment of children and adolescents
- Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
