Bethesda Day Break Activity Aide

Job Summary:

The CNA/Activity Aid will provide immediate personal care to clients; observe and report any changes in physical condition or behavior to program director and RN consultant, assist with planning, preparing and implementing daily activity program and serve meals/snacks and assist with clean-up as assigned.

Adult Day Manager or Assistant in absence of Manager

B. Interrelationships with:
Program assistant, Activity Aides, Volunteers, RN,

C. Supervisory responsibilities (or internal contacts). No supervisory responsibilities

D. External Contacts:
Client's families, Bus/van drivers,

Hours of Work:
Full-time or part-time as scheduled

Dress Code:
Street clothing appropriate in a business environment with identification name badge.

Essential Requirements of Work: (Minimum qualifications necessary to function at full productivity)

  • Education and Training:
    High school diploma or equivalent
  • NA/R training and certification (not required)
  • CPR and First Aid training and certification
  • Experience:

    Previous work with elderly or physically challenged persons is desirable.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Responsibility:
    Assisting with client care and programming.

  • Clients are treated with care and respect. They are assisted with transfers and toileting needs as necessary, in a timely manner. Other client requests are handled promptly.
  • Bathe assigned clients, clean w/p or tub and chair after each use.
  • Observe and report any incidents, changes in condition or behavior to Program Director/RN Consultant.
  • Assist clients with bowel and bladder cares and maintain cleanliness
  • Provide aseptic techniques to prevent spread of disease, infection
  • Take TPR's, BP's and weights as assigned.
  • Assist with meal serving and snack preparation in accordance with food handling policies, as assigned.

  • Assist with charting of client monthly progress notes.
