Track & Field - Distance Assistant Varsity Coach

A Coach is responsible for overseeing the development and success of student-athletes or participants in a specific athletic or activity program. This role includes planning and conducting practice sessions, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

* Previous experience in coaching or playing the specific sport/activity, with a strong understanding of the rules, techniques, and strategies.

* Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff in both individual and group settings.

* Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their best.

* Knowledge of safety protocols, injury prevention, and first aid, with a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all participants.

* Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development.

* Availability to attend practices, games, and other team-related events, including evenings and weekends as required.

* Technique, training process and ability to evaluate and train athletes of multiple age groups and varying ability levels is a must.

* Must be a great communicator and have the ability to be responsible for a large number of athletes at the same time working on multiple situations.

* A good knowledge of MSHSL & District policies and procedures is also a must.
