Ready Mix Driver | Abercrombie, ND Portable Plant
This seasonal, full-time position is based out of the portable plant in Abercrombie, ND, with coverage at various job sites. The role includes delivering concrete to construction sites and requires openness to extended periods away from home. A paid training program is provided on how to handle and deliver concrete safely and efficiently. CDL Class A or B is required, along with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a ready-mix truck to transport and deliver concrete to construction sites.
- Follow DOT requirements and all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Follow instructions regarding the type and quantity of concrete to be delivered.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery updates or issues.
- Provide customer service by interacting professionally at construction sites.
- Ensure proper handling and pouring of concrete to prevent spills or damage.
- Maintain clean interior and exterior of the truck.
- Assist with additional maintenance/cleaning duties in and around the plant location during downtime.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders and stairs.
- Work in various weather conditions.
- Travel for potentially extended periods.
- Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up if unsafe behavior or conditions are observed.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site for extended periods of time.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
- Ability to or willingness to learn how to operate and maintain a ready-mix concrete truck.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable with learning or using GPS.
- Willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
- Competitive pay of $35/hour
