Consolidated Precision Products seeks a Ceramics Shell Process Engineer to lead shell molding processes for complex aerospace and industrial castings. This role develops and optimizes ceramic slurry, stucco, and shell-building parameters to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and yield. Responsibilities include process design, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis, as well as documentation, SPC, and PFMEA. The engineer partners with production, quality, and maintenance to drive continuous improvement, implement best practices, support new product introduction, and train operators in a safety- and quality-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and optimize ceramic shell molding processes for aerospace and industrial castings
- Define and control slurry, stucco, and shell-building parameters to meet dimensional and surface requirements
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of shell-related defects to improve yield and scrap rates
- Conduct process capability studies, SPC, and PFMEA for shell operations
- Support new product introduction, including trials, qualifications, and process validation for new alloys and designs
- Partner with production, quality, and maintenance to implement process improvements and best practices
- Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Train operators and technicians on shell process standards, safety, and quality requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment
