Job Summary
The Intake Coordinator handles assessment and referral activities at the facility, interfacing closely with medical staff, department members, administration, treatment team, external case managers, and managed care organizations.
Responsibilities- Conduct clinical interviews, patient assessment, family treatment, and treatment planning.
- Communicate with external review organizations and comparable entities.
- Work effectively with diverse populations.
- Perform intake related duties in a clean, well-lit environment with high stress active work environment.
- Prioritize responsibilities and maintain professional demeanor and appearance.
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field, or licensed RN.
- Minimum of two years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Working knowledge of the mental health field and experience with clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family treatment, and treatment planning.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Skills in prioritizing responsibilities and maintaining professional demeanor and appearance.
- Trained in non-violent physical crisis intervention and CPR prior to independent assignment.
