Laboratory Support Technician/Phlebotomist Lake West Part Time Day Shift - ( 260008HT )
- Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
- Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
- Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
- Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
- Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- Part time 20 hours per week.
- This is the day shift: 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
This position is for Lake West Medical Center.
Sign-on Bonus:
This position is eligible for a$1000 sign-on bonus
to eligible candidates. Eligible candidates must be newly hired to UH.
University Hospitals is offering a$1,000 sign on bonus,minus applicable taxes, for designated regular Phlebotomy positions.
Internal Applicants are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
- High School Equivalent / GED required and
- Other Accredited Program:
Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program Preferred. - less than 1 year Entry level required.
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.
- Takes responsibility for self-development
- Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
- Display initiative to perform job duties
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Competent on venipuncture for all ages.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Phlebotomy Certification Preferred Upon Hire.
