Saw Operator​/Material Handler

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and organized individual to join our team as a Saw Operator/Material Handler. This dual-role position involves cutting various metals and managing materials within the shop. The ideal candidate has experience with circular saws, material handling, and operating a sit-down tow motor. Our family-run business offers a friendly, hands-on work environment and is willing to train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a circular saw to cut metals, including steel and stainless steel, to the specified lengths.
• Accurately read a tape measure (to within a quarter inch) and follow work orders.
• Use a sit-down tow motor to load/unload trucks and move materials to/from holding areas.
• Maintain organized work spaces and ensure materials are properly placed.
• Read packing tickets for shipments and ensure accuracy in handling orders.

Requirements:

• Experience with circular saws or sit-down tow motors; both are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and packing tickets.
• Comfortable working in a family-run, old-school shop environment.
• Safety-conscious and reliable.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday, with overtime as needed on Fridays.
• Paid half-hour lunch break.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Medical coverage available after 90 days (company covers half of the policy).
• 401(k) with a 3% company match after one year.
• Contract-to-hire position.
