Position: QUALITY CONTROL
Quality Control Inspector - Flexographic & Digital Printing
** 2nd Shift, 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday - Friday (Training on 1st shift)

Job Summary The Quality Control (QC) inspector is responsible for ensuring printed products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards across flexographic and digital printing processes. This role focuses on color accuracy, print consistency, material compliance, and defect prevention throughout production.

Key Responsibilities Inspect printed materials for quality, accuracy, and consistency during setup, run, and post-production

Verify color accuracy using spectrophotometers, densitometers, and visual standards (e.g., Delta E, density, dot gain)
Approve press set-ups for flexographic and digital presses prior to production runs Monitor and document print quality, defects, and corrective actions

Identify issues such as color variation, registration errors, banding, streaking, ghosting, and plate or substrate defects

Collaborate with press operators, prepress, and production teams to resolve quality issues quickly

Ensure compliance with customer specifications, GMP standards, and internal SOPsMaintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, and reports

Support continuous improvement initiatives and root-cause analysis

Assist with calibration and maintenance of quality measurement equipment

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or quality-related certifications are a plus.

Strong attention to detail with solid problem-solving skills.

Previous experience with light equipment operation or inspection tools is highly preferred.

Ability to read and interpret order specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

Experience using measuring tools such as rulers.

Coachable, punctual, and reliable with a strong willingness to learn.

Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a production environment with exposure to noise and machinery.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Ability to lift and carry materials as needed to support production and quality processes.

Required

Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or printing-related education preferred2+ years of experience in quality control within a flexographic and/or digital printing environment

Strong understanding of printing processes, substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing

Proficiency with color measurement tools and quality standards

Ability to read job tickets, artwork, and specifications

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced production environment

Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with label, packaging, or commercial printing

Knowledge of GMP or FDA-regulated printing environments

Familiarity with variable data printing and digital workflows

Basic understanding of color management systems and profiles

Work Environment Manufacturing/production floor setting

Exposure to inks, solvents, and machinery
