Overview
Provides warehouse services assigned through safe, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of customer products and material using specially equipped trucks such as slips‑sheet, clamps and reach. This position may involve all phases of loading, unloading, staging and storage of customer's product as well as the use of computer equipment.
Responsibilities- Accurately locate and load customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand and using appropriate motorized equipment (e.g., forklift truck), following established procedures and safety regulations.
- Operate special equipment such as turret clamp, slip sheet, and RF unit as necessary.
- Count, weigh and record units of materials handled on daily production sheet.
- Complete specialized order processing for loading by stenciling, slip‑sheeting, shrink wrapping, labeling and consolidating as required.
- Assign and verify trailers to appropriate dock and/or yard location; lock trailers to dock‑lock and/or chock wheels following all safety rules and company policy.
- Daily inspect and repair or make adjustments before operating tow‑motor vehicles, completing the tow‑motor inspection sheet at the beginning of each shift.
- Prepare trailers prior to loading by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.
- Assist in building and grounds maintenance to keep the facility clean, neat, safe and orderly.
- Load picked orders or pull & load according to policies and procedures, completing appropriate paperwork including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit and Lot Verification.
- Unload, move, stack and stage customer products and materials by hand and using forklift or other power equipment, keeping appropriate records and reports.
- Complete activity and statistical reports as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist in physical inventories to ensure facility and contents are secure.
- Provide other services such as sanitation activities, assembling crates (boxes) to contain products, and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by supervisor or team leader.
Follow basic mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well‑being of oneself and others.
Additional Information- Apply the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and reduce waste.
- Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.
- Position requires the incumbent’s performance to meet and occasionally exceed standards set by the company for warehouse safety, food safety, sanitation, quality, productivity and customer service.
- Forklift Certification.
- Preferred two (2) years forklift/tow motor experience; forklift certification required.
- Ability to operate forklift – sit down and stand up, tow motor, motorized and non‑motorized pallet jack; clamp, reach and slip sheet.
- Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures.
- Light data entry skills required.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
- Ability to write legibly.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use.
- Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention.
- Language skills:
English. - Must be a team player.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner.

The hourly wage for this position is $21.75.
