Role Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer collaborates with the Quality Manager and the Quality Team to ensure consistent product quality within a manufacturing environment. The role oversees quality compliance, develops and implements quality systems, and supports cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and global QMS compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain site QMS in accordance with ISO
    9001, UL, and global QMS requirements.
  • Lead, create, publish, and manage test and verification plans, including Engineering Test Requests (ETRs) and validation plans and reports.
  • Supervise incoming raw material, in-process, and final product testing.
  • Analyze test data to ensure statistical trends are in control and elevate out‑of‑control findings.
  • Ensure Quality SAP Master Data is accurately entered and verified; create SAP inspection plans.
  • Drive reduction of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), customer complaints, and First Pass/Reject Rates.
  • Support customer complaint and product failure investigations to determine root cause and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Develop work instructions and procedures; provide training on relevant processes.
  • Support supplier and external quality activities including corrective action requests, audits, and evaluations.
  • Lead process improvement projects and facilitate process improvement events (e.g., RCCA). Interact with other plants to resolve inter‑plant issues and promote global quality initiatives.
  • Review Quality KPIs with site leaders and report on QMS‑related items (CARs, MOCs, internal audits).
  • Perform internal audits and manage internal audit schedules.
  • Restrict suspect material batches physically and in the ERP system.
  • Supervise maintenance, calibration, and analysis (gage R&R) for laboratory instruments; coordinate purchase of new test equipment.
  • Participate in and support EHS, 5S, and Continuous Improvement programs and strategic goals.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), Management of Change (MOC), and procurement processes for the Quality function.
  • Ensure all documentation—including technical drawings, MPIs, QSPs, and floor instructions—remains controlled and updated.
  • Enforce health, safety, and housekeeping procedures; wear PPE as required; promote a safe work environment.
  • Follow attendance, respect, and time‑recording policies; train and assist others.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Four‑year undergraduate degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, Process Engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong leadership record with high organization and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Statistical analysis experience, including use of Minitab.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO, IATF, FDA, etc.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, push/pull 5400–1500lbs with equipment, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, kneel, climb, and reach at, below, or above shoulder level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing technical workforce, ERP (SAP), and Quality Database (QT9).
  • Auditor training and experience;
    Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ) with expert knowledge of SAP QM functional module and Master Data.
