Description
The Five Star sales strategy is two-fold. We sell our services to customers to add value to their supply chains. We also sell our freight lanes and value proposition to a growing carrier network in order to build sustainable capacity solutions for our customers.
The central mission of a customer sales rep is to increase revenue by building and developing new key customer relationships with companies who will build greater synergies for our network. The production will come by executing against Five Star’s defined sales process to target customers in focused metro areas and develop a subsequent strategy for increasing Five Star’s business with those customers over time to build a larger share of business.
PrimaryDuties and Responsibilities
Build a Sales Pipeline - Prospect and generate new sales opportunities for the Five Star Trucking.
Gain insight into the customer's or prospect's organization, processes, needs, and wants to better provide solutions.
Identify how Five Star Trucking can help potential customers through market intelligence and research.
Prepare timely business quotes, bids, rates, and proposals for prospective customers.
Proactively communicate professionally through high-volume phone calls, email, and other channels.
Utilize Lead Gen, CRM and other technologies to provide unparalleled customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Build, manage and execute a sales pipeline to both generate current and future revenue and achieve leadership sales targets for the Company.
- Utilize various sales approaches, timely market intelligence, various technologies and Five Star Trucking’s value proposition to build unique, personalized and long term client relationships.
- Leverage different communication mediums to execute activity-based selling.
- Provide tailored client solutions through deeper understanding of their organization, wants and needs.

Sales Pipeline Management:
- Create and manage a sales pipeline by prospecting and generating new sales opportunities that align with the Five Star’s 3PL services.
- Ability to manage and execute the flow of opportunities through the sales process to achieve sales targets set by leadership.

Understanding and Leveraging Value Proposition:
- Leverage Five Star Trucking’s Value Proposition to uncover and identify best-fit opportunities for potential clients.

Sales Approach and Relationship Building:
- Leverage a mix of transactional and consultative sales approaches to establish initial client relationships.
- Build and cultivate deep, long-term client relationships to ensure ongoing business and customer satisfaction.

Market and Industry Analysis:
- Ability to monitor, understand, and apply market trends, industry updates, and the economy to provide valuable market intelligence to prospects and clients.

Customer Insight and Solution Provision:
- Acquire insight into the customer’s or prospect’s organization, processes, needs, and wants to better tailor solutions that meet their needs.

Professional Communication:
- Proactively and professionally communicate both internally within the organization and externally with clients and prospects.
7.
Activity Based Selling:
- Deliver activity-based selling through a combination of outreach methods such as phone calls, emails, and other communication channels.

Technology Utilization:
- Comfortable utilizing technologies to track sales pipeline and progress in CRM and other tools
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated to drive results
- Sound understanding of sales prospecting tactics and developing sales strategies
- Practice a balance of patience and persistence to achieve targets in a challenging role
- Minimum two (2) years experience in a sales role (e.g. pipelining, lead generation, cold calling, research)
- Minimum two (2) year experience in the logistics industry with complete understanding of Full Truckload OTR transportation
- Experience with computers including Windows Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, and industry-specific software
- Possess working knowledge of various sales technologies and tools (i.e. Lead Generation Software, CRM)
