Students of the Upper Moreland Township School District will be provided with the foundation and skills necessary to excel in the exciting, complex, and interdependent world in which they live.
The Marching Unit Director is responsible for leading and managing the high school marching band program. This includes musical instruction, visual performance development, rehearsals, performances, and overall program coordination to promote excellence, teamwork, and school spirit.
Responsibilities- Plan and direct all marching band rehearsals and performances (football games, competitions, parades, and special events).
- Design and coordinate marching drills and visual performance elements.
- Select and arrange appropriate music for performances.
- Instruct students in musicianship, marching technique, and performance skills.
- Collaborate with school administration, music staff, and booster organizations.
- Manage program logistics, including equipment, uniforms, travel, and scheduling.
- Promote student leadership, discipline, and a positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and district guidelines.
