The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that delivers TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions and needs. The role supports business objectives, identifies opportunities to educate on Bank products, and nurtures Customer relationships through proactive outreach and sales activities.
Responsibilities- Maintain broad knowledge of products, services, and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate customers.
- Establish and nurture Customer relationships by consistently displaying product knowledge and actively listening to Customer needs.
- Make product recommendations based on Customer needs and highlight product features and benefits that support customers through challenging times.
- Utilize Customer relationship management tools to identify Customer solutions and lead-focused outbound sales activities.
- Independently resolve customer issues, errors, and problems, escalating when necessary.
- Participate in Customer outreach, servicing, and advice activities to deliver on our unexpectedly human promise.
- Engage in conversations with customers about loan products and facilitate the application intake.
- Maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
- Perform a variety of teller transactions including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals while adhering to operational policies and fraud mitigation procedures.
- Act as a brand champion internally and externally, providing sound advice and proactive insights to build customer financial confidence.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of experience working with customers and/or sales, or equivalent experience through volunteering, education, or military service.
- Teller experience preferred; must complete teller training upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations, educate on products, and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Notary License (Preferred).
- Must be eligible for NMLS registration and comply with Regulation Z and SAFE Act requirements.
- Must meet Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report.
