SUMMARY

The CNC Lathe Team Leader position requiring seven years in a production CNC lathe machining environment. This position requires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and CNC machine operations. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of duties in a production CNC machining environment including machine set ups, for self and others, and machine operations. Incumbent confirms materials and processes are current and correct for jobs.

Incumbent acts a communication channel between production personnel and management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform machine set ups for self and for others.
  • Review all paperwork and processes for current revision level for all jobs.
  • Confirm correct material to be used for each job.
  • Assist, train and supervise CNC operators in the performance of their duties.
  • Report all maintenance issues to supervisor and resolve if possible.
  • Enable effective communication between management and operators.
  • Work with supervisor in preparing daily work schedules.
  • Help maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 7 years experience in production CNC machining operations.
  • Meet requirements of CNC Machining Center Operator III.
  • Proven leadership, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in an expedient manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may require evening and weekend work.
