Substitute School Nurse (Licensed, Non-Certified)

Responsible for providing nursing services to students in assigned building. Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining health and nursing services records for students, identifying school health problems and informing staff members and administration as necessary, organizing, scheduling, performing, and recording annual health examinations and screenings, dispensing prescribed medication and health services as directed by a physician order, providing care for first aid, accidents, and illnesses, completing state required paperwork and reports in a timely manner, serving as a resource for staff and administration in regards to school health services, serving on relevant committees and groups as needed, serving as the liaison between parents and the school on all health related matters, providing outreach to families for the collection of state required examinations and immunization records, providing support for school related health pandemic concerns, including outreach, family contact, and reporting, and other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications:

LPN or RN active PA license is required. CPR/First Aid active certification is required. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Must have the ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements. Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment. The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
