Field Inspector - Third Class

Job Overview

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company is hiring a FIELD INSPECTOR – THIRD CLASS – located in Willow Grove.

• Perform construction‑related tasks such as making taps, loading and unloading materials, operating valves, and other field duties.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and company construction standards.
• Transfer field notes to finished plans, complete material inventories, and ensure contractor installations are properly closed.
• Operate pipe and box locators and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Process department forms such as tap slips, material orders, and timesheets.
• Coordinate and plan daily work duties with contract construction crews to maintain efficient schedules, safety, and quality control.
• Communicate project status and job progress to supervisors, customers, vendors, and municipal representatives on a daily basis.
• Use a computer and Aqua programs including AIMS, E‑Mail, GIS, and tablet.
• Perform any other department tasks or functions directed by the supervisor.

• Valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with company territory.
• Availability for overtime as required.
• Math skills related to Construction Department functions.
• Drafting skills.
• Physical capability to lift 100 pounds and carry out department functions (taps, loading/unloading, valve operation).
• Ability to process department forms such as tap slips, material orders, and timesheets.
• Professional communication skills with customers, vendors, and municipal representatives.
• Proficiency with computers and all Aqua programs (AIMS, E‑Mail, GIS, tablet).
• Capability to coordinate scheduling with contract crews.

The hourly rate is $39.54. All employees hired or entering the bargaining unit on or after December 15, 2022, receive a wage reduction of $4.00 per hour. This reduction is returned in $1.00 increases once a year over a four‑year period. Employees receive annual contract increases.
