School Instructional Assistant (Complex Learners)
District 30 is seeking dedicated and caring School Instructional Assistants (Complex Learners) to join our Student Services team. This position provides specialized instructional support for students with significant educational, functional, behavioral, and/or medical needs in self-contained special education and general education settings. Working under the supervision of licensed special education teachers and in collaboration with related service providers, this role is central to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where all learners can thrive.

Wescott, Willowbrook, and Maple School Elementary - Work Schedule:
6.17 hours per day, 1,113.67 hours per year - Middle School
Work Schedule:
6.5 hours per day, 1,172.50 hours per year - Contract Type:
Full-time, 10-month position (182 days) - Compensation Starting Hourly Rate: $21.57 (additional wage schedule steps granted for relevant work experience)
- Instructional Assistants assigned to Complex Learners receive an additional $4.00 per hour differential pay.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Paraprofessional License registered with Region 05 North Cook ISC required
- Experience working with students with complex learning needs preferred
- Ability to participate in behavior management procedures and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training, including application in crisis situations
- Understanding of various disabilities and appropriate educational supports, or demonstrated willingness to learn
