Position Summary
The Junior Accountant provides support to ensure day‑to‑day accounting functions and processes, including Accounts Payable, account analysis, reconciliation, reviewing balance sheet and P&L accounts, meeting deadlines, and performing other projects as assigned.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties- Processes accurate and timely vendor payments
- Reviews general ledger accounts against subsidiary ledger, income and expense accounts, and monthly entries for accurate coding and correct ledger amounts
- Assists AP team with month‑end closing tasks and journal entries
- Maintains records and files in accordance with established filing system
- Ensures transactions are correctly coded and verifies compliance with financial procedures
- Maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Upholds confidentiality at all times
- Maintains a seated position at a desk, types for eight hours per day, and communicates with employees in person and by telephone frequently throughout the day
- Assists with other special projects as assigned by management
Skills and Abilities
- Self‑starter with excellent interpersonal communication, problem‑solving skills, and strong quantitative and analytical competency
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal, and quantitative skills and comfortable working in Excel
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent preferred.
