What You’ll Be Doing (The Mission)

You will be a core engine behind entity reporting, accounting policy research, and operational scaling:

• Serve as the lead subject matter expert responsible for researching complex accounting literature, analyzing new Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs), evaluating new business transactions, and drafting technical policy documentation and note disclosures.
• Own entity-level financial statement preparation, GL oversight, and key reporting analytics for leadership and investors.
• Handle mark-to-market estimates, complex journal entries, and high-level general ledger reconciliations.
• Act as the primary, trusted liaison for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing technical research and audit documentation.
• Oversee month-end close procedures, expense allocations, accruals, and fixed assets while actively finding ways to streamline and automate manual workflows.

Who You Are

• 3–5++ years of solid accounting experience (public accounting audit/technical accounting, corporate accounting, or specialty financial services).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Strong passion and aptitude for researching complex US GAAP literature, writing technical memos, and staying ahead of new accounting standards.
• Deep grasp of full financial statement prep (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), complex GL accounts, and advanced Excel capabilities.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about finding smarter, automated ways to handle accounting workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with the confidence to explain technical accounting issues and research findings to C-suite leadership.
• Prior banking, credit, lending, or Fin Tech experience is a fantastic bonus!
