Overview
The Delaware Department of Labor is seeking a motivated intern to gain hands‑on experience in workforce development and public service. This internship provides an opportunity to learn office operations, customer service, and program administration while supporting initiatives that help Delaware residents access employment and career resources.
Responsibilities- Data entry and database management – organize and maintain accurate client and case data, transfer written notes into numerical/database format, review and confirm accuracy, and ensure all pertinent details are documented.
- Pardon application preparation – enter pardon‑related data into PDF applications, review and organize supporting materials such as client SBI reports, court records, and case narratives, and help ensure applications are complete for timely submission.
- DJL enrollment support – assist with enrolling new APEX clients into DJL, support account setup, provide in‑person assistance, and aid clients through the enrollment process to improve completion rates.
- Administrative tracking tasks – upload worksheets and supporting documents into DJL, maintain organized digital records for case tracking and management, and support document organization and file maintenance.
- Case‑management follow‑up calls – conduct follow‑up calls with clients regarding outstanding documentation or next steps, track client progress throughout each pardon phase, manage deadlines, and maintain communication between clients and case managers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to take initiative with routine tasks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Currently enrolled or a recent college graduate.
