this global business ehs & operations sustainability leader will be part of the operations team at chemours headquarters in wilmington, delaware (1007 n market street) and report directly to the global operations vice president, apm. The position may also be located at an apm manufacturing site.

responsibilities
  • provides high quality leadership to advanced performance materials operations through intense site engagement and field & ehs system auditing.
  • identifies and leads opportunities to simplify processes and deliver business value.
  • develops business ehs strategy and objectives aligned with business leadership, sites, and enterprise ehs & operations sustainability strategy.
  • ensures appropriate moc-p for site ehs resources; coaches and mentors site resources and provides input into the enterprise ehs talent management process.
  • provides local ehs & sustainability community support and leadership, representing chemours at community interactions.
  • drives implementation of best practices to sites, seeking opportunities to streamline, standardize, and simplify within the business and across the enterprise.
  • ensures learning from incidents across the enterprise is understood and appropriate actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • participates as a full member of both the business operations leadership team (olt) and the ehs council, transparently moving information back and forth between the two.
  • receives business direction on role from operations vice president and functional direction from ehs & corporate responsibility vice presidents.
  • serves as a full partner and actively participates in sensing for current and future business needs, communicating needs assertively back to the ehs and business leadership.
  • acts as business ehs resource & coach to htm sgcs (safety guardian committees).
  • assists sites with incident investigation, injury, illness and incident classification, issue resolution, and agency interactions.
  • travel up to 30% as needed.
required qualifications
  • bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental, health, and safety or a related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • strong personal leadership; ability to take initiative, self-manage, and lead/implement change.
  • excellent implementation skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, achieve results on time, and influence stakeholders.
  • effective networking and team‑building skills; ability to work closely with site teams, facilitate discussions, and build alignment.
  • clear communication skills; ability to convey information clearly written and verbally at all organizational levels.
preferred qualifications
  • 10+ years’ experience in high‑hazard industrial chemical manufacturing.
  • demonstrated business acumen and ability to anticipate problems and make appropriate adjustments.
  • strong technical background with independent thinking or in‑depth technical expertise.
