Perform general labor duties including a designated spotter for trucks and equipment on an asphalt paving lay‑down crew or grading crew.

• Perform various unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving or grading operations.
• Shovel asphalt, stone, or dirt.
• Use tools such as shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp, and concrete saw.
• Operate a farm‑type tractor with power broom attachment.
• Act as the designated spotter (training will be provided).

• One year of experience (training will be provided to the right person).
• Valid NC Driver’s License.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and strict safety rules and policies.
• Maintain a good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work weekends and some nights.

• Stand, walk, stretch, bend, lift, pull, twist, throw, reach, and squat.
• Regular lifting of 25 pounds or more, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Walk and stand for full days of 12 to 15 hours.
• Be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Ride to and from work; if a company vehicle is driven, meet the company driver qualification standards.
