Join a mechanical contractor supporting the construction of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Wilmington, DE. This opportunity provides hands-on safety leadership for critical mechanical construction activities including pipe fitting, rigging, equipment setting, and installation of process systems within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
The Construction Safety Manager will maintain a strong field presence while working directly with craft personnel, subcontractors, supervision, and project leadership to identify hazards, maintain compliance, and support the safe execution of mechanical construction activities.
This project offers the opportunity to support a large-scale pharmaceutical facility build where safety, quality, and compliance standards are essential to project success.
Required Qualifications- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) Required
- Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience
- Pharmaceutical Construction Experience Required
- Large Industrial Construction Experience
- Process Piping Installation Experience
- Equipment Setting and Rigging Oversight Experience
- Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences Facility Experience
- Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical construction activities
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
- Monitor rigging operations, pipe installation activities, equipment setting, and material handling operations
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and pharmaceutical project safety requirements
- Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
- Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
- Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
- Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
