Heavy Civil Estimator (Bridge Experience Required)
A leading construction company specializing in heavy civil infrastructure projects is seeking a talented and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with bridge experience. This role involves preparing detailed estimates for bridge and other heavy civil projects, contributing to the successful bidding and execution of large-scale infrastructure work.
The Heavy Civil Estimator will be responsible for:
- Preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for bridge construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective project plans.
- Analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure accuracy in estimating.
- Conducting site visits and assessments to gather information for accurate estimates.
- Reviewing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Assisting in the preparation of bid proposals and participating in the bid review process.
- Monitoring and updating cost databases and estimating tools to reflect current market conditions.
- Identifying potential cost-saving opportunities and risks within project estimates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a strong focus on bridge projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with a strong understanding of construction cost structures.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to bridge construction projects.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
