ISI seeks a Managing Editor to oversee the development and maintenance of a Collegiate Network website.
OverviewThe Collegiate Network Managing Editor oversees the backend operations and editorial curation of a website the Collegiate Network is launching in early 2026. This role is responsible for identifying, curating, and elevating the strongest journalism produced across our network of student-run campus newspapers, as well as work by alumni, fellows, and interns. The Managing Editor serves as an editorial curator and a technical problem-solver, ensuring that the website consistently features high-quality content while functioning smoothly and reliably.
This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Collegiate Network, who also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the website. While the Managing Editor plays a critical role in surfacing and vetting content, final editorial authority and decision-making power rests with the Editor-in-Chief. The Managing Editor supports and informs those decisions but is not the final arbiter of what is published on the site.
This position requires strong editorial judgment, technical competence, and the ability to work closely with student journalists and editors at varying levels of experience. This position is available at ISI’s Wilmington, DE headquarters or remote with a preference for Washington, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia. Remote employees are expected to make regular visits to ISI’s campus in Wilmington, DE.
Early-career editors, former campus paper staff, and operations-minded writers with a strong awareness of the journalism landscape who want to build strong editorial judgment and digital publishing skills are encouraged to apply for this role.
About ISIFounded in 1953, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) is a nonprofit organization that educates for liberty, equipping future leaders to embrace and defend the principles that make America free and prosperous.
Too many college students feel isolated or attacked for questioning the ever-narrowing range of debate on campus. ISI introduces them to the American tradition of liberty and to a vibrant community of students and scholars. Our students get an education and a community they don’t find at their universities—and in the process they become articulate voices for conservative principles.
The Collegiate Network is ISI’s journalism arm, equipping on-campus journalists with support that enables them to launch and sustain successful independent campus papers that prize truth over narrative and ideology. For 40 years, CN has identified enterprising young talent with notable alumni including entrepreneur Peter Thiel, journalist Ross Douthat, and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, among many others.
