Legacy Church is a new church in North Wilmington with a big heart for connection. They seek to be a diverse, multigenerational church passionate about helping people of all backgrounds find and follow Jesus. Launched in 2023, it’s a place where people from all walks of life can feel welcome and explore their faith journey together. The name “Legacy” reflects their heart and deep desire to build lives that point to God’s greatness, and they’re all about discovering how our story and our legacy connects with His.

Legacy Church is seeking a dedicated and gifted individual to serve as their next Worship Pastor, a crucial role for this vibrant and growing church plant. This is more than just a music leadership position;
Legacy Church is looking for a true pastor who can shepherd the congregation into the presence of God through engaging worship experiences while also building and developing a thriving volunteer worship team.

The ideal candidate will be proficient as a vocalist and musician, preferably with expertise in guitar and/or piano. Collaborating closely with the Senior Pastor, this individual will select music that aligns with the church’s vision and values, cultivate a positive team environment, and take the initiative to develop and grow the worship ministry. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish and solidify the worship culture of a young, mission-focused church with a deep commitment to elevating Jesus and fostering authentic relationships.

• Shepherd the congregation through worship into the presence of God.
• Coordinate and lead worship experiences for Sunday services and special events.
• Select music that aligns with the overall vision and values of the church and plan the flow of worship to be Christ-centered, engaging, and transformative.
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to create a cohesive worship experience.
• Recruit, mentor, and train volunteer worship and production team members.
• Develop the music and leadership skills of the worship team and help them grow in their skills and as a team.
• Pastor the worship and production teams and maintain healthy teams for both.
• Learn and have ownership of the set up and tear down of worship.
• Stay current with trends in worship music and technology.
• Support the ministry as a whole with a willing spirit and a team mentality.

What You Bring
The Following Describes Many Of The Characteristics Of The Ideal Candidate For The Worship Pastor

• Bachelor’s Degree in Worship Ministry, Music, or a related field is preferred.
• 3 or more years of relevant experience in a church or ministry setting.

• Proficiency as a vocalist and musician, with expertise in guitar and/or keyboard.
• Lead worship both musically and verbally through transitions, use of scripture, and other moments that help the congregation engage more deeply in worship.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Strong interpersonal, relational, and communication skills.
• Lead and develop worship and production volunteers.
• Must be able to plan meaningful and formative worship services.
• Ability to lead, give direction to, and develop a band.
• Should work well with the Senior Pastor, staff, and volunteers.
