Summary Statement
This year‑round seasonal position will sell park permits, provide customer service by explaining regulations, answer visitor requests, needs and complaints, and provide information about the park and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include completing daily deposits, responding to inquiries for park permits, verifying follow‑up information and paperwork, creating revenue reports, running an automated sales program, tracking supplies and inventory, and performing other clerical duties as required.
The primary location is the Alapocas Run State Park Office, with additional work at the Wilmington State Parks Office as needed. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Collect appropriate fees and account for handling of money.
- Serve as liaison with the public, clients, staff and others to explain services, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain and compile fiscal and narrative records and reports.
- Demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as required.
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
- Six months of customer service experience.
- Six months of experience in cash handling and writing receipts.
- Six months of experience using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets or databases.
