Job GoalTo enlarge the educational experience of students by facilitating their best possible adjustment to school through a program of psychological services.
Qualifications- Must hold an NASP or ASP School Psychologist degree.
- Must currently hold or be eligible for a State of Delaware School Psychologist certification and licensure.
- Successfully completed a supervised internship.
- Hold a valid National Certified School Psychologist Certificate.
- The School Psychologist is to be a permanent member of an inter-disciplinary child study team to provide psychological services.
- Evaluates the intellectual, academic, behavioral, perceptual-motor skills, emotional adjustment and readiness for learning of students.
- Interprets psycho-educational findings and conducts conferences.
- Provides consultation for students, parents and professional associates.
- Participates in follow-up procedures concerning all aspects of the psychological services.
- Is a permanent member of the school’s placement committee for exceptional students.
- Functions, where appropriate, as a member of the curriculum, group testing, guidance and research committees.
- Evaluates psychological service programs and job performance, submitting annual report as requested.
- Facilitates school-wide intervention programs such as Instructional Support Teams and Positive Behavior Support and Response to Intervention.
- Assists with in-service training and assumes responsibility for own professional growth and development.
- Create behavior management plans in consultation with building staff for identified students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
