Special Education Teacher

Seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support high school students in Wilmington, DE. This full-time contracted position is available ASAP through June 15th, with potential opportunities for summer work and renewal for the  school year.

In this role, you will manage a caseload of 23 students, primarily focusing on 10th and 12th grade English. Your responsibilities include leading two co-taught classes and two small group sessions, along with two prep periods to plan and design effective lessons tailored to individual student needs.

Key Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience teaching secondary-level English, preferably 10th and 12th grade
• Ability to collaboratively co-teach and manage small groups
• Strong classroom management and individualized instructional skills
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs

Location:

Wilmington, Delaware

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivering specialized instruction to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborating with co-teachers to develop inclusive lesson plans
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
• Maintaining compliance with special education regulations and reporting requirements
• Facilitating small group instruction to support academic growth
